On 19th September 2017 the final presentations for The Digital Insurer Insurance Innovation Awards were held.
In this unique format four finalists presented online to The Digital Insurer community. After listening to their presentations and asking questions an online vote was held to select the winner.

Our distributor franchise is one of the Generali Group’s major strengths. More than 90% of the Generali business is generated by traditional sales forces, and we intend to leverage and further develop this asset.
Our primary focus is enabling and empowering distributors to take advantage of new digital tools – web, mobile & social – that improve their commercial performance as part of an integrated, omni-channel approach.
Traditionally the customer journey was largely offline, involving the yellow pages, phone calls from home and face-to-face meetings. It was agent-led. Customers had no choice but to go through agents for advice or to conduct transactions.
Today the customer journey has changed. It is no longer linear, no longer offline. It involves many touch points, most of which are digital. Today the customer journey is no longer led by agents, but by customers.
Currently our traditional agents are not well positioned to be part of this new customer journey.

We partnered with an insurtech e-commerce start up to co-design the first ever Generali Global digital platform that gives customers the same experience across different markets, can be adapted locally, and provides global data analytics.
With Digital Agent, the agents are in the driver seat and have the ability to use the most advance online marketing tools in a ready-to-go approach. They can send Email & SMS campaigns which are pre-curated by our marketing team professionals based on our data analytics platform, chat online with the customers and manage and run Google AdWords campaigns. Real-time notifications enable agents to respond to customers as they visit the website from marketing campaigns or every other organic visitor.
The agents’ personal websites are desktop, mobile and search engine friendly meaning interested clients can easily get in touch via click to call on mobile, email, chat or the contact form.
In addition, agents’ aggregated data is continuously generating insight at the global level, helping us improve by leveraging data analytics and our brand position in Google.
