St. John’s University and The Digital Insurer Partner to Accelerate the Adoption of Digital Technology by the Insurance Industry

For Immediate Release: January 31, 2023

St. John’s University and The Digital Insurer Partner to Accelerate the Adoption
of Digital Technology across the Insurance Industry

New York, January 23, 2023 – St. John’s University (SJU), a recognized provider of executive education for insurance through its Peter J. Tobin College of Business Center for Executive Education (CEE) and The Digital Insurer Pte Limited (TDI), a  leading global platform for exploring, learning, and delivering digital across the insurance industry, are joining together in a new strategic educational partnership designed to further develop and distribute digital learning and development (L&D) programs for insurance executives around the world.

Wendy Cohen, Director of The Tobin Center for Executive Education at St. John’s University, said: “St. John’s University’s Tobin Center for Executive Education is delighted to partner with The Digital Insurer to deliver educational content that builds digital literacy in the insurance industry. This partnership is important and timely. The insurance industry, one of the world’s largest, is embracing digitalization and other advanced technologies. Doing so has raised important questions for industry leaders: How do they best use these new technologies to serve their clients? And how do they best prepare their people to provide that service? The CDI+ Global Program being launched in partnership with St. John’s University’s Tobin Center for Executive Education provides answers to those questions by thoroughly covering the concepts behind digitalization and giving course takers the opportunity to gain expertise in the technological revolution taking place today.

TDI, which is run by a team of specialists “from the industry, for the industry,” has established an impressive market position in the provision of cutting-edge digital insurance L&D. The new partnership will see SJU and TDI working together, beginning with a new initiative called CDI+Global, a four-month digital insurance certificate program designed for U.S. professionals interested in acquiring global insights on transforming the insurance industry in a digital word.

Hugh Terry, CEO of TDI said: “TDI has been uniquely focused on how new technologies can improve the global insurance industry for the last 10 years. Since launching TDI Academy in 2020, we have seen increasingly strong demand for our unique digital insurance programs across Asia, Europe and Latin America. We are delighted to now be further extending the availability of these programs into the U.S. (as well as internationally), through our partnership with SJU.”

“TDI is a platform business, and our market-leading digital insurance L&D programs are built for scale,” Mr. Terry continued.  “By partnering with SJU, a top-tier, world-class university with deep insurance expertise, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as executive development programs, we will be further leveraging our platform to help more insurance professionals engage in how new technologies can improve our industry, for the benefit of all.”
