About this event
The Digital Insurer was pleased to be invited to Insurtech Connect Vegas this year, as part of our new partnership with the ITC team (TDI is working with ITC to launch ITC Asia 2-4 June 2020 – you can read the announcement here https://www.the-digital-insurer.com/the-digital-insurer-insuretech-connect-partnership-for-itc-asia/ ).
As the old saying goes “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”, so we can’t give too much away (!), but here’s a little peak into what went on…
Day 1 was pre-conference activities, including a working lunch with panel discussion and 2019 Innovation Awards hosted by the Business Insurance team….
Thinking we would manage to avoid the queues by registering early for the main event proved to be a false-hope. A few others had the same idea on the Monday afternoon!
As jet-lagged early risers, we were first into the huge breakfast hall, which soon filled-up!
Now in its 4th year, ITC Vegas has grown rapidly into the world’s largest offline insurance event. It was standing room only at the start of day 1 – with many of the estimated 7000 delegates crammed into the main conference hall to hear opening remarks from Jay Weintraub, Co-Founder of ITC and Caribou Honig, ITC’s Chairman, followed by keynote sessions from Chris Colborn of Lippincott, Glenn Shapiro of Allstate and Eran Agrios of Salesforce.
Facilities at the MGM made for an impressive experience over the course of the event.
With the opening sessions behind us, we ventured outside to explore the Insurtech Expo…and never made it back into the conference rooms again. Pre-arranged and unplanned meetings with many old friends and just as many new, led to a hectic, back-to-back networking schedule. It didn’t take long to see why ITC has become such a huge success – whilst the conference and workshop session are first class, the real action goes on outside – ITC is all about the networking. And everyone is there for a reason – to learn and find connections that can help them get more done. The pace is infectious, and relentless…with beers most definitely earned by many at the end of the day.
With over 100 Insurtechs exhibiting – there was a wide range of ideas and businesses to cater for every need.
With the formalities over, it was time for some serious downtime at the event after-party at the MGM Grand – with Billy Idol as the surprise guest. Billy mentioned Insurtech Connect so many times during the course of his set, that there’s got to be a chance ITC slips into the lyrics of his next single – let’s see!
ITC Vegas 2019 was a huge success. Full marks to the ITC team, and everyone else involved. The Digital Insurer is excited to be working with ITC to bring the event to Asia next year. It will be THE regional event of the year, so mark your diaries now (2-4 June in Singapore). And in the meantime, don’t forget TDI’s LIVEFEST – the world’s largest online event – taking place over 24 hours 21st November this year.
