The Digital Insurer – Connecting to China through WeChat
We are pleased to announce that we have recently started to publish some of our content in Chinese and English via WeChat to achieve our goal to grow a community of Digital Insurance professionals within China. We believe China is a key Insurance market, not only by size (in 2015, it became the third largest insurance market with a GWP of US $370 billion(1)) but also in terms of its willingness to embrace and pioneer digital innovation – think Zhong An and Ping An.
In partnership with KPMG, we have started by making our Digital Insurance in Action content available in Chinese and English through WeChat, China’s largest social messaging platform. You can now read about companies from around the globe such as Trov, Discovery Health and Connexions Asia and their digital efforts in both English and Chinese.

We foresee the “insurer of the future” needs to adapt to “Digitalization trends” in order to remain competitive, stay relevant for its customers, accountable to its stakeholders and create value for its investors.”
We currently have a small number of articles available in WeChat (listed below) which are grouped into a number of digital categories. Our plan is to organically build the content over a period of time by regularly releasing new content into the account on a weekly basis. Over the coming months, we also plan to introduce other relevant areas of content such as our InsurTech newsletters and Thought Leadership articles.
