League is a new digital alternative to traditional health insurance that connects employers and employees to a comprehensive network of health services and benefits, giving them a degree of choice that doesn’t restrict employees to one insurer’s hospital network or policy features.
By offering businesses customised employee healthcare benefits through its app, League is enabling employers to create a culture of wellness for their teams while promoting a preventative rather than reactive approach to healthcare.
Key features of League include user profiles that are imbued with communication modules, paperless transactions and a pay-per-use model whereby employers only pay for features that their teams use.
Another noteworthy feature of League is the inclusion of pre-approved and vetted healthcare professionals. These League approved vendors offer a broad spectrum of preventative health and wellness services including nutrition, acupuncture, massage therapy, personal training, physiotherapy, diabetes screening, chiropractic medicine and mental health services.
CEO Mike Serbinis saw the condition of today’s employee benefits industry and concluded that “having one size to fit everyone is really designed to have people use very little of their benefits. It’s claims avoidance versus maximising your engagement. In our model, there’s no concepts of a claim or reimbursement. Just a digital wallet in the app, so when it comes to selecting something you’re interested in from the marketplace, that’s it, payment happens automatically.”
Essentially, the League model is based on providing everything a corporate team needs to optimize their work/life balance and health through  ‘benefits on demand’.
