Kakau the first subscription based insurance in Brazil.
We are beginning to live in the subscription economy, transportation in particular has embraced the ‘rent not own’ philosophy.

Cacau (cocoa) in some regions in Brazil means money. Brazilians are also known in the luxury market because they buy expensive clothes and pay for it in monthly installments.
How it works
Launched in 2017, Kakau is a Brazilian startup based in São Paulo which offers home insurance as a service in a subscription base using a clean but intuitive user interface to sell house and apartment insurance in four steps.
Whenever customers want they can start a home insurance by choosing a monthly subscription plan and get covered for that period.
If the coverage isn’t need anymore, just stop it. No penalties and no long term contracts.
On top of the residential insurance, the client receives some services like house cleaning and appliance repair.
Anna, the assistant robot, helps not only the customer buying experience, but can also answer questions about the policy, claims and even request assistance seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Bottom Line
The subscription economy heralds new beginnings for insurers and InsurTechs to create new business models. The insurance subscription business model can be a good alternative to create rental combos and flexible offers for owners.
