INSHUR is a new mobile-first insurance platform that allows ride sharing drivers to buy a commercial liability insurance policy in seconds just by taking a few pictures with their phone.
Available on both iOS and Android, ride sharing drivers can now download the INSHUR app, take a picture of their driving license and instantly receive quotes from top carriers.
What differentiates INSHUR from others is the ability to automatically check details including driving record, accidents, vehicle age through the scanning of your TLC license.
INSHUR enables monthly direct debits for premium payments in addition to physical locations (identifiable on the app homepage) where users can stop by to speak with licensed INSHUR insurance agents during business hours. This offline presence is dramatically increasing the conversion rate for INSHUR, by forging a strong connection between INSHUR drivers and agents.
Whilst competing with insurance available through Uber on both price and service, INSHUR aims to issue policies within 24 hours as long as the Uber, lyft or black cab driver uploads all the correct paperwork to the app. The best part? It’s free, INSHUR does not charge any fees. Although currently a mobile-first insurance product for on-demand drivers, INSHUR plans to add more carriers and products soon to its portfolio.
By allowing ride sharing drivers to quote, purchase and service their insurance policies at their convenience, INSHUR seems to have established itself as a legitimate alternative to insurance offered through Uber, Lyft or blackcab companies. Ultimately, INSHUR is another example of the on demand economy penetrating the insurance industry, what upcoming use cases there might be remains an open question.
