India’s leading Life Insurer ICICI Prudential launched a tablet based application NEO in 2013, with the aim of transforming the customer experience in a very significant way. The app is pre-loaded onto tablets issued to select brokers and agents.  It takes the customer through a detailed Life Goal analysis and using a proprietary rules-engine, recommends the best product(s) for the insurance seeker given their specific requirements.
ICICI Prudential’s initiative ensures a transparent deal for policyholders as NEO takes the prospective consumer through multiple steps before concluding on the product that fits their needs. One major benefit of the application is that a customer can view the product literature and performance at run-time and make a decision, leaving no room for false promises or mis-selling by the agents.
The tablet based app also has an inbuilt scanner that can be used to scan and upload documents such as proof of address, proof of income and PAN card immediately. The customer’s picture can also be instantly taken and uploaded. Customers can also pay for the policy instantly as the tablet has an inbuilt POS device and all customers need to do is to swipe their card.
