Bupa has entered into a partnership with US based HealthTap, which styles itself as a ‘healthcare operating system’ powering the largest network of interactive doctors and AI assisted health/wellness recommendations. The partnership will deploy an end-to-end medical service that is essentially a combination of both digital and in-person healthcare support.
By integrating the hitherto disconnected elements of healthcare, and tying them to one unified Personal Health Record (PHR), HOPES creates healthcare that is fast, personalized, and high-quality, ultimately helping providers to remotely take patients from query-to-cure.
For Bupa’s sixteen million customers, HealthTap’s proprietary Health Operating System HOPES and AI-powered apps will enable access to billions of virtual medical queries answered by the more than 100,000 doctors in its network.
Evelyn Bourke, Bupa Group CEO has said of Bupa’s involvement: “We have decided to partner with HealthTap because of the combination of industry-leading technology, execution, and understanding of healthcare that HealthTap brings. Together we bring world-leading digital health and care experiences to our customers, while saving costs, and delivering efficiencies for healthcare providers.”
Adding to this, Ron Gutman, HealthTap’s Founder and CEO has said “By joining together one of the world’s most respected leaders in healthcare with one of the world’s most innovative health tech companies, the Bupa/HealthTap partnership is uniquely positioned to launch a new era of interoperable, smart, and engaging healthcare.”
Ultimately, HealthTap’s AI-powered services will enable Bupa’s policyholders to figure out whether they need to immediately go to a hospital and, if not, can access doctors through virtual visits, receive reminders about taking or refilling prescription medications, and also access one unified record of their medical history.
