Launched in 2011, Bidu has established itself as a pioneer within Brazil’s B2C insurance channel. Supported by over 150 insurance consultants that generate over 400,000 quotations per year, Bidu is succeeding where others have failed in the Brazilian insurance market.
Bidu’s business model is designed to maximise the conversion rate by integrating online payment, live chat, telephone and email re-targeting into the user journey. The quotation process has also been highly simplified to enhance customer experience for life and health insurance lines particularly, however Bidu is primarily focused on P&C products including travel, auto, home, electronics, pet and personal accident insurance.
Bidu’s I.T infrastructure has server side integration with Brazilian insurers which contrasts strikingly with the screen scraping methodology favoured by rival insurance aggregators.
Bidu’s competitors include MinutoSeguros and Ta Certo however, Bidu’s recent fund raising has compounded its established presence in Brazil.
