Assurance is a US based company that helps brokers and agents sort and identify the best life insurance policy for each client’s needs by visualizing different guaranteed and non-guaranteed life insurance rates.
Assurance has built its offerings based on deep expertise across insurance, UX design and digital journeys. It recently came out of the product incubation phase and have now launched their first SaaS based platform application, Ensight proposal visualization.
Key features of the Assurance Ensight platform include:
- Real-time product proposition to the client, which displays both coverage limits and investment returns from unit linked policies.
- Greater workflow efficiencies during client meetings due to paperless application and approval processes.
- Deeper interaction levels with customers that prioritise transparency above lengthy forms and contracts.
The underlying data used by Assurance’s Ensight platform comes from a feed provided by the Ebix WinFlex illustration engine, a multi-carrier insurance software system. Additionally, the Ensight platform is already optimised for ‘virtual selling’ via Skype, GoTo Meeting and any other online meeting platform. Major insurers including Pacific Life, Penn Mutual and NFP have embraced the Ensight solution.
Traditionally, life insurance products including Whole Life and Universal Life were sold using a 40 page PDF illustration, while the Assurance Ensight solution can be used to engage consumers remotely, essentially bringing the offline experience online.
Ultimately, although life insurance has proven a particularly stubborn segment to disrupt digitally, the ability to combine data visualization techniques with the ubiquity of mobile devices is an interesting approach to disrupting the dominant agent/bancassurance distribution channel.
