Allstate Rolls Out New Mobile Drive-in Inspection Center

Use of digital technology helps develop a touchless process for evaluating damages, settling claims, and getting customers back on the road as quickly as possible

After a beta test in South Carolina in 2014, Allstate put the new Mobile Assessment Center (MAC) to the test after hailstorms in Colorado. MAC is a giant, hail inspection center on wheels, having high-tech cameras that are capable of scanning hail damage on vehicles with increased speed and accuracy.

Vehicles are driven into the MAC and the damage is assessed in a matter of minutes. MAC uses photo mapping software to determine the number of dents and the severity of damage to each panel on a vehicle. The system then compiles the information and provides a detailed report which adjusters use to complete the claim.

“Allstate is on the front-line in using this latest technology. The Mobile Assessment Center is going to elevate the way we take care of customers following a disaster,” said Mark McGillivray, senior vice president, Allstate Claims. “The Mobile Assessment Center allows for an almost touch-less process for evaluating damages, settling claims, and getting customers back on the road as quickly as possible.”
