China's Tech giants part one: Alibaba

This month we have the first in our three-part series on China’s BAT – the tech giants Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, and consider the digital insurance activities currently underway at Alibaba. As China’s biggest eCommerce destination, Alibaba has amassed more than 500 million active users across ecommerce, mobile payments and O2O services. As the founding shareholder of ZhongAn, Alibaba has now initiated a range of other digital insurance efforts including preventative healthcare, location based travel insurance and a recently launched a mutual insurer, all of which will have a significant impact on China’s digital insurance ecosystem. This month we also introduce a video format for the series with Swiss Re’s Yannick Even and The Digital Insurer team discussing the wider issues raised this month – please do take a look as some very thoughtful insight is included.
