Announcing the launch of ‘Digital Insurance in Action’

inActionBanner-20140720

KPMG

In partnership with KPMG, we are delighted to announce the launch of our new section on The Digital Insurer website, Digital Insurance in Action.

What is Digital Insurance in Action?

DiginAction-20150720ital Insurance in Action (DIA) showcases real examples of digital innovation from insurance companies and insurance technology companies around the world. Its aim is to help bring digital insurance to life.

How does Digital Insurance in Action work?

DIA consists of three types of write-up:

  1. Snippets – short and quick examples of digital in action
  2. In Views – more detail on specific digital initiatives, including a point of view from The Digital Insurer
  3. Case Studies – these showcase particular digital innovations in depth and include interviews, data and view points

For the launch, we have focused on releasing approximately 50 Snippets and 5 In Views from an array of insurers, categories and regions across the globe. You can view some of these below:

From Africa & Middle East From Asia Pacific From North America From Europe
BIMA distributes microinsurance through mobile operators Manulife digital marketing campaign in Singapore Erie Insurance to use drones for claims and underwriting in the USA Friendsurance in Germany makes insurance social again

Over the coming months, we will also be releasing regular case studies and look forward to sharing some deeper insights on digital initiatives that insurers are currently working on.

In the meantime, we encourage you to visit the DIA home page and take a browse through the other Snippets and In Views. You will notice at the top of the DIA Home Page, there is a handy filter which allows you to quickly sort Snippets, In Views by Region and by Category and Case Studies in the future.

Go to DIA Home Page

From August, we will be bringing DIA straight to your inbox. This will be similar to what we have been doing with the Digital Insurance Library over the last two years. Each month you will receive an email with a combination of the latest 9 Snippets, In Views and Case Studies that we have published. Over time, with yours and KPMG’s support, we expect DIA to become the largest and most comprehensive global resource for digital insurance initiatives.

Hugh Terry, founder of The Digital Insurer, commented on the new offering:

KPMG’s sponsorship allows us to now expand our services further and commence reporting on the ‘action’ in the emerging world of digital insurance. Whilst our commentary remains rooted in Asia Pacific, we believe the site will become the global reference site for digital insurance around the world over the next 12-18 months.

Simon Phipps, KPMG, also commented on the launch of the new DIA section:

We are delighted to be able to help further raise awareness of the opportunities and benefits that digital technologies and innovation can bring to our industry. With the ability to leverage and monetise big data now widely available, the digital revolution is here to stay. Insurance is becoming increasingly relevant in our daily lives through developments such as mobile, telematics, and wearable devices, and the insurance industry will likely become more of a hotbed of innovation in the months and years ahead. We hope that the development of ‘Digital Insurance in Action’, in partnership with The Digital Insurer, will provide invaluable and stimulating insight to those insurers looking to learn from what’s going on in the industry, as they reflect on and further strengthen their own digital insurance plans.

We also want to involve as many of our subscribers in the growth of DIA as we can, and would love to hear from you if you are able to share examples of Digital Insurance in Action that you know about. Please use the ‘Report a Digital Action’ button below to tell us more and we will include it in DIA if suitable.
