由于自然灾害预防技术的资本密集性,相关创业活动相对较少。然而,初创公司从政府机构以及部门处获取数据的能力,使其能够在自然灾害管理方面实现“最后一公里”的创新。WeatherTech就是其中一家,其结合了政府掌握的实时天气形成数据,以及通过微信提供的简易用户界面。

3.您提到了公私合营企业对于自然灾害保险覆盖的重要性,那么其中有没有特别值得一提的中国公司呢?

最有趣的一个公私合营关系的例子是一家美国的再保险公司——思诺再保险公司。有趣的点在于他们正在与上海南面的宁波市政府合作,提供该区域的农作物保险和自然灾害保险。这一举措表明,一家很少在中国露面的美国再保险公司,也能够与省级政府合作,提供专业的自然灾害承保知识。当然,一些中国保险公司也同样掌握着这方面的专业知识,但市场规模与当地政府要求的结合意味着可以有多个再保险公司参与其中。

4.最近有几家保险公司已经开始对早先的自然灾害数据进行建模,以便进入该行业,这将如何改变中国的自然灾害市场呢?

腾讯在应对自然灾害方面可能是最为积极的,其旗下的微信平台可实时推送台风、地震及山体滑坡预警,以便受灾人群及时撤离。阿里巴巴与美国AGGO合作推出的“互联网+农业”计划正,通过淘宝农村服务中心为中国农场提供大马力联合收割机和救援设备,同时淘宝农村服务中心还为农民提供耕作及收获相关的信息与支持。
